And met with brokenness alone
Try to breathe
The deepest containment of oxygen
Is it enough for permanence
No, we must breathe again
The air we breathe is fleeting
In each exhale there is death
Until inhalation begins anew
It’s by God’s design, His sovereign power
Hands work with dedication
The accolades and fragrant praise
Only hollow sounds of misplaced worship
Hands formed by the Sculpture
Skill divinely inscribed
Purpose written into each heartbeat
Where will it be it all be on our deathbed
Will it save us?
Can it impart righteousness?
Without Him, we’re void of holy redemption
It all shifts through our hands like sand
We may smile in the mundane
But we will find purpose in the Lord
There is righteousness in Him
Surrender is the only avenue to permanence
Release the fight, the tattered flag, the ashes
Apart from Him, there is only emptiness
Relinquish this hollow world
Take hold of redemptions cry
In the well there is a fount of truth
Find rest in the weariness
In it Faithfulness abounds
Life is reborn
And in the arms of Christ
Permanence is found
