Redeemed and rooted

The Word of God is a treasure trove of wonderful instruction that the Lord has blessed us with. More than that, we have the Holy Spirit who resides inside the hearts of all those who believe on the name of Jesus Christ and have Him as the Lord and Savior of their lives. Those are two powerful gifts — two irreplaceable connections with God that give us full access to everything we need for a life of godliness.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

It is a joy to utilize all that has been given to commune with God. It is that relationship that causes hearts and minds to change and transform, to be molded in the image of God. Each moment set aside to nurture that relationship is an investment toward the God-designed destiny in front of us. It is worthwhile and so incredibly important that it become a continual act of surrender made over and over again — pursuing with our whole minds, seeking with our whole hearts, desiring with all that we are to have God Himself in our lives, leading and guiding us.

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

That is the goal, and through my love of writing — which the Lord gave me — I process through Scripture and find peace and joy that is unmatched by anything I could obtain on my own. There is an excitement at new insights, not new to the world, just new to me. When I see something I haven’t understood before, or comprehend a truth that was elusive and out of reach, I can’t help but rejoice. How precious it is that God has chosen to draw near and be faithful to open my eyes to see His promises throughout Scripture. The truths written across the pages of the Word are like love letters — written out, bound, and given to me to treasure.

Such care doesn’t mean that I hide it away to keep it safe. Recognizing that these were given to me to study and learn from is a beautiful realization. It is a joy and honor to parse through the Word and share the excitement I find within its pages. As I learn and grow, my perspective may be refined or altogether changed — but I would love for you to subscribe and join me on this journey of study, prayer, and thanksgiving!
